LIVING FOR JESUS  Daily Prayer
JESUS, praise the Name above all names, for You Jesus are the Only Door that opens into Eternal Life! Lord Jesus, guide us in Your Ways that we can with all confidence know that if we walk in Your Light that the “darkness of this world” will never overshadow us and make us lose the path to Your Kingdom. Lord we are caught up this year especially in trying to return our nation back to the greatness  we had as “One Nation Under God”. You have already proven that the nations that follow You will be led to the Only True Peace. Lord Jesus, forgive our nation for straying from the path of Righteousness You have laid out before us, and forgive me for hiding my Light for the darkness is great in America — here I am, Lord use me!     AMEN

THE JESUS QUESTIONS

JESUS was shown to be the Messiah by the fulfilling of prophecies through circumstance of His Lineage, His Birth from a “virgin” womb, and being identified as the Messiah by John the Baptist who was the prophesied “forerunner” of the Messiah. Jesus was further identified as the Messiah by the way King Herod reacted to the wise men when they asked, “Where is He that is born King of the Jews?” (Matthew 2:2) — all these circumstances and historical facts are circumstances beyond the control of Jesus to manipulate or His disciples to manufacture after Jesus had been crucified by Roman authority at the request of the Jewish leaders! These external circumstances documented by St. Matthew in the first three chapters of his Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly point to the historical fact that Jesus fulfills all prophecies of the long-awaited Messiah but at the end of chapter 3 Jesus began demonstrating the importance of His Baptism by John in regards to fulfilling Messianic prophecy when Jesus allowed Himself to be baptized by John and by declaring to John the Baptist “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matthew 3:15)  Starting with Matthew Chapter 4 Jesus begins to demonstrate by His “Actions” that He IS the Messiah. A quick list of the first Actions by Jesus reveals His Lifestyle is the Perfect Example of living our day-to-day lives in such a way that every thing we do and say should “glorify God”. Here is a list of the First Actions of Jesus recorded by Matthew and how Jesus responded to His day-to-day circumstances (ACTION 1) — “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” (Matthew 4:1) After being in the wilderness for 40 days of fasting and prayer Jesus was tempted by the three temptations that are most common to man and Jesus responded thusly: (Temptation 1) “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4)  (Temptation 2) “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’” (Matthew 4:7) (Temptation 3) “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, you shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” (Matthew 4:10) Matthew records that when Jesus avoided temptation by using the Word of God that “Then the devil left [Jesus] and behold angels came and ministered to Him.” (Matthew 4:11)  This first Messianic Action of Jesus was truly the Action of God’s Chosen One as Jesus demonstrated that He was well versed in the Holy Scriptures and relied completely on the Holy Scriptures to resist temptation. In responding to the devil’s temptations with scripture Jesus “Glorified God” and showed that He would do nothing without having a solid Scriptural background to justify His Actions — again Jesus from the very beginning was all about living in a way that Honors God! (ACTION 2) — Matthew records next: “Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naptali, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet saying: ‘The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.” (Matthew 4:12-16)  Matthew writes: “From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’(Matthew 4:17) (ACTION 3) — Matthew records that Jesus then began to call His disciples and declared to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:18-22) (ACTION 4) — Matthew next records: “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseases among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.” (Matthew 4:23-25) With these actions Jesus showed by His life that He was the Messiah and that indeed Jesus had the AUTHORITY and POWER of God for Jesus did nothing that did not GLORIFY HIS FATHER! After these Messianic Actions Jesus gave His “Sermon on the Mount” (Matthew 5:1-12) immediately after giving His Sermon on the Mount Jesus began using Questions to focus our attention to the TRUTH of GOD contained in every Lesson that Jesus Taught with such Great Authority! Immediately after delivering the “Sermon on the Mount” Jesus asked His first Question JQ#1  “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?” (Matthew 5:13) Why should we study the Questions of Jesus? Why should we give Jesus an honest answer? Personally, this “JESUS Questions” blog began because the Holy Spirit made clear to me the need to dig deeper and to encourage more people to dig deeper into their personal relationship with Jesus — this blog is written to encourage all believers to consider the possibility that we are guilty of what was spoken by Jesus in Revelation to the angel of the church at Ephesus: “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” (Revelation 2:1-4) Jesus spoke these words in the book John the disciple of Jesus wrote while John “was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day” (Revelation 1:10) The Holy Spirit urges all “Born Again Believers” to return to our “first love” and TRUST that Jesus is the Only Way! This study of The JESUS Questions has been initiated by the Holy Spirit and is to be shared with everyone; therefore I will challenge everyone that reads this daily blog to dig deep into their relationship with Jesus and consider your current personal day-to-day relationship with Jesus — The Holy Spirit asks: “How’s your ‘Love’ life?”

LIVING FOR JESUS  Daily Prayer
JESUS, we seek to find Your Truth and to know the “Way” and we praise You that You did not just “tell” us how to live but You became flesh and “lived” a life on earth so that You could Teach by “example”. Lord Jesus, as I search the scriptures I always end up searching my heart, for it is the desires of my heart that lead me to my actions and it is in our hearts that Your truth speaks the loudest. Lord, my desire is to be more like You in everything I do, say, think, and live! Lord, You know that I fall short “short of the glory of God” and yet — You still love me — Teach me Lord to stand tall in my shortcomings and love others with the love You showed the world by both Your life and Your death.     AMEN

THE JESUS QUESTIONS

JESUS has the “Authority” from God to “Guide” all who will follow Him to Heaven and to God Himself. This “Authority from God” has been documented in the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the first three chapters where St. Matthew recorded how Jesus fulfilled the Messianic Prophecies and thereby is God’s Anointed One, God’s Only Begotten Son, the Son of Man who was born of Holy Seed from a “Virgin” womb! Those are the best credentials Jesus could have to prove His Authority to Teach us about God His Father.  This blog attempts to accept the challenge from the Holy Spirit to read through the Gospel of Jesus Christ written by St. Matthew and to answer the Questions that Jesus asked. It is under this premise that we will continue our study on the Questions that Jesus asked during His earthly ministry starting at the beginning with the first Jesus Question encountered in Matthew’s account JQ#01  “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?” (Matthew 5:13).  A comment received from Sharon Anderson who had accepted my invitation to comment on “The JESUS Questions” is filled with great insights that in reading and trying to answer these JESUS Questions we should keep in mind “3 things — …context, context, context…” which is great advice that I adopted immediately and advice that I pass on to the reader of this blog along with my open invitation for any and all comments the reader feels led to make on this blog — I still feel the urging of the Holy Spirit to get others involved in this deeper study of Jesus because He is “soon coming”!!!   JQ#01 is about us being the “the salt of the earth” and with His Question there is a declarative statement, Jesus said “you are”, and not “you will become” or “you have been” but He states from His point of Infinite Truth that we “ARE” and that is where everyone needs to start — what we think about ourselves is not nearly as important as what Jesus “knows” about us! Jesus said very clearly that “You are the salt of the earth…” therefore we must first think of ourselves as “salt” and then we must answer the Question Jesus asks with JQ#01 “…but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?”. Sharon Anderson in her comment responded with some very good notes on the context (“context is king”) and that is where any study or discussion should start as I agree completely with Sharon that we must study context to get to the TRUTH. The “context” for JQ#01 is Matthew 5:3-16 the “Beatitudes”.  In verses 5:3-11 Jesus uses the word “are” in each verse 5:3-11 and then again in verses 5:13 and 5:14 but in 5:3-11 Jesus says “Blessed are” and in 5:13 and 5:14 Jesus says “You are” . Sharon stated “I think it behooves us to examine our own lives and see if our character and conduct line up more closely with the description in Matthew 5:3-11 or with 2 Timothy 3:1-5.” I agree that these “Beatitudes” were given to us as a Moral Standard and that we should also recognize that Jesus states emphatically that we “ARE salt” and also that we “ARE light”. Jesus was also very clear that we must be careful not to lose our “flavor” nor hide our “light”!  The Life of Jesus was the most useful life ever lived and is without a doubt the brightest Light. Jesus stated that the “reason” we should live our lives as He lived His is so that the world will see our lives being lived for Christ and that “they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

LIVING FOR JESUS  Daily Prayer
JESUS, Lord, Savior, Redeemer, Master, Teacher — what joy it is to know that the One holding our Eternity in His Hands deserves such Divine and eloquent titles. Lord I wake to the thought that You have given me yet another day and through the strength that Your Grace has imparted to me the possibilities of my future are limitless. Jesus, You teach and guide us in Your Ways and we know that through the knowledge that You give we can know the Father and we are assured that if we walk in Your Way that the path leads us to Eternal, Unbroken Fellowship with God Himself! What glorious thought that time and death will not hold sway over us as we enter into Your Kingdom and have all of Eternity ahead of us, a Blessed Eternity  free from the bondage of sin … Forgive me, a sinner in the flesh — I am longing for the day I can stand before You in Spirit and in Truth at the Final Judgement and be judged not on my righteousness but on the Righteousness of the Son of the Living God, even my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Himself!      AMEN

THE JESUS QUESTIONS
JESUS began His Ministry by going on a “field trip” which firmly established His “Purpose and Credentials” of being God’s Messiah by experiencing first hand the main problem Jesus was sent to earth to resolve — mainly the big issue in everyone’s life is having to learn how to be “in the world” but resist the temptation to be “of the world”! Matthew writes about this “field trip” Jesus took at the start of His Earthly Ministry thusly: “Then [immediately after being baptized by John in the Jordan] Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” (Matthew 4:1-3) This is a Divinely inspired passage by Matthew because it completely exposes the Main Truth of God needed by every individual and gives us an “example” of what to look for and how to handle it once we find ourselves in this circumstance — it is guaranteed that each one of us will encounter such a circumstance somewhere along the way on our Spiritual Journey! I say this because the first statement is, “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit” so it is obvious that if Jesus came to be an “example” for us and to teach us how to react to certain circumstances in our daily life, then it is logical to assume that if the Spirit led Jesus “into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” that it would be prudent for us to prepare for that “experience” on our own “Spiritual” journey by expecting to find ourselves in “the wilderness” and to encounter “temptation”! The best way to prepare for any circumstance, and especially if we know with certainty that we will be “tempted by the devil” is to listen to the ONE that has gone before us and has successfully resolved every circumstance that we will find ourselves in at some point on our personal “Spiritual Journey”! We would not be so foolish as to go on a great journey into a wild and unknown land without making necessary preparations and to use an “experienced guide” to show us how to avoid the pitfalls and dangers that we are sure to encounter on our way — so why do we foolishly think we can make it through life without “The Guide” that has experienced VICTORY over Life, Temptation, and Death? It is written of Jesus: “For we do not have a [Guide] who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet He did not sin.” (Hebrews 4:15) If I am going to have to face “the devil” and I have “to be tempted” by the one that seeks to “devour my soul”, then I want to have as my guide the One that is “The Guide” and has VICTORY over the world, sin, temptation, the devil, and death itself to lead me on my Spiritual Journey!   We are very fortunate to have “The Guide” for our Spiritual Journey and we also have the “Ultimate Guide Book” (the Holy Bible) to read for ourselves the “experiences” of “failures” and “pitfalls” of all those that refused to follow “The Guide” and the “successes” of those that listened to Him!!! On my embarking on my Spiritual Journey I obtained a copy of the “Ultimate Guide to Life” and in reading it through and through I have been very aware of certain passages that are written in “Red Letters” in my (Guide Book) copy of the Scofield Study Bible and those “Red Letter” passages are the ones that contains Statements and Advice that Jesus the Master Life-Guide spoke to help us on our Spiritual Journey. Jesus uses “Questions” to point us to special “points of interest” along our journey. The Spirit led me to a thought one day while reading in my Bible that I was to go through the New Testament Gospel of Jesus Christ written by Matthew and read through all the times Jesus is quoted (designated by the “Red Letters”) and to study each Question that Jesus asked as I came to it. There are not that many “Red Letter” passages so when the Master Teacher who has Infinite Knowledge and Understanding asks a “Question” then we should pay attention! The plan for the rest of this blog then is to identify those “Questions” that Jesus asked, study the context surrounding the circumstance, and let the Holy Spirit enlighten our consciousness to that “Lesson” that JESUS the Master Teacher is trying to Teach us by making us stop and think about what He has asked, then meditate on each “JESUS Question” until we can give Him an “honest” answer. This exercise will not be a quick read and it will take months (the rest of the year in fact) to answer each of the 33 JESUS Questions the Holy Spirit challenged me to answer in this blog and share them with others seeking TRUTH on their personal SPIRITUAL JOURNEY— but I encourage you to take the time and accept the challenge because Jesus had a reason for asking these Questions and I know He has a very good reason for letting the Holy Spirit challenge each reader to give their own answer for each of “The JESUS Questions” — and your own “honest” answer must be given directly to Jesus Himself!! This blog is designed by the Holy Spirit to be a One-on-one between the reader and JESUS CHRIST! The Plan then is to start by reading again from the beginning of Matthew and his introduction of Jesus Christ as Messiah and firmly establish in our minds that Jesus IS the Master Guide having the Authority and the Power of God to successfully lead us on our Spiritual Journey and to take us safely through all the pitfalls of life. Once we know that Jesus IS the Master Teacher and by what Authority He Teaches we can then with supreme confidence continue our Spiritual Journey. Let us begin our “RED LETTER SPIRITUAL JOURNEY with JESUS” by introducing the first JESUS Question — JQ#01 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?” (Matthew 5:13a) The first thought that struck me when I read this first JESUS Question is that Jesus is talking to all those that call themselves “Christians”, and the second thought that followed was an emotion of guilt and shame as I read the next statement Jesus made about salt: “… [tasteless salt] is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” (Matthew 5:13b) The JESUS Question JQ#01 about Christians being “the salt of the earth” and the immediate statement Jesus made about “salt” provoked an emotion that made me ask, “Is this what is happening in my life and I am being trampled underfoot by the world” and then I immediately prayed “Jesus, how do I fix it?”?!?! — my prayer was answered as soon as I continued reading the next few verses in my Guide Book where I found “encouragement and guidance” — for with the “Question” still lingering in my mind, the Master Teacher’s WORDS opened my understanding to the Answer that followed immediately after His Question! It is my prayer that this blog will do the same for you and that you will find these Eternal Life Answers from the Master’s Questions, asked by JESUS HIMSELF for each of our sakes!

Why should we study The JESUS Questions???:

II Timothy 2:15 admonishes, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

The Consequences of a Journey to Truth

The Consequences of  a Journey to Truth
01-22-2020
Lanny G. Lewis

This story of “TRUTH” begins with a gift of a book from the oldest of my 3 sisters. I read the book and my life changed because the book stirred a basic desire for my life to count for something, to have a “purpose”. This journey to finding “purpose” began with a search for “TRUTH”. The first step was to settle on a definition of “TRUTH”. It seemed logical that “FINDING TRUTH” would be a journey of many twists and turns and to attain any desired destination that something more than just thinking about going would be required. Once a destination is determined then movement is required to move from point A to point B. In considering moving it became evident that the definition of “TRUTH” was important to determine “point B” because an unknown destination would be very hard to find. It was at this juncture that a second thought-question about “TRUTH” sprang up: “If one finds "TRUTH" but does not recognize “TRUTH” then how does one know the destination has been achieved?” Therefore, logic declared that the definition of “TRUTH” would be essential in knowing “TRUTH” and not passing it like ships in the night. To find “TRUTH” and not know it would be the same as never finding it at all. The definition of “TRUTH” is critical and deserves some “HONEST” thought. This exercise of “honest thought” is very difficult for most and impossible for many but it is the same as one needing to cross a river and understanding the importance of a bridge to transport one to the other side, especially if the river is deep and dangerous.  If one builds a bridge to “TRUTH” with a foundation of lies, or rotted planks then the bridge will collapse and one can not attain the desired destination. If one decides that “TRUTH” is whatever they declare truth to be, their foundation will crumble and the collapse of their bridge over troubled water is assured as lies cannot support the weight of pride. So who can tell us what “TRUTH” is and where do we find it? How do we recognize “TRUTH” when we are in its presence? The answers are found in surrendering to ignorance and accepting that “TRUTH” is what it is and our opinion of it has no bearing on “TRUTH” itself. In other words:

“TRUTH is not dependent on personal opinion.”

Take for example someone declares that they believe that gravity doesn’t exist. This someone tells you with all authority that gravity is a conspiracy theory and is just a figment of your imagination. Take that same person to the top of the Empire State building and get them to demonstrate their “faith” in their belief that gravity does not exist. Let them jump from the building and let “TRUTH” expose itself. If “TRUTH” is that gravity DOES EXIST then when the person jumps you can predict that their path will begin by heading DOWN towards the sidewalk. It can be further predicted that even though the person believes gravity does not exist and even though they continue to chant “Gravity does not exist” that the sidewalk will teach the “TRUTH” of the existence of gravity and that the opinion of the skeptic does not define “TRUTH”. One can use this example as a learning experience on recognizing “TRUTH” in the following ways:

  1. One can judge the existence of gravity by jumping off the building and relying on their opinion to keep them from hitting the pavement.
  2. One can observe that every time an object is given its freedom from a height that the object’s path is now being controlled by the “TRUTH” of gravity and that “TRUTH” applies to the object regardless of anyone’s opinion.
  3. One can accept that others have observed gravity at work for thousands of years and even though they cannot explain “how” gravity works they can express results consistent with the “TRUTH” of gravity.

The “TRUTH” of gravity affects you if you believe in gravity or not.

The “TRUTH” of gravity affects you if you understand gravity or not.

The “TRUTH” of gravity affects you because gravity is independent of anyone’s opinion, anyone’s title of nobility, anyone’s financial status, or the number of degrees they have achieved, in other words, gravity affects you because of the “TRUTH” of gravity and not someone’s resume, opinion, nor belief!

The definition of “TRUTH” must begin by accepting we cannot define “TRUTH” other than the simple statement that “TRUTH” is independent of any outside force. “TRUTH” cannot be explained why it is “TRUTH” so how can we recognize “TRUTH” if we can’t explain it — perhaps we can accept that “TRUTH” is an “UNCHANGING SELF SUSTAINING STANDARD” and were it able to be manipulated by any outside influence or agent of change then it ceases to be “TRUTH” and becomes “Opinion” which can be both easily manipulated or influenced by an outside agency.

We can recognize “TRUTH” by observing that it “NEVER CHANGES”. “TRUTH” therefore cannot be declared to have “evolved” because the definition of “Evolution” is “Change over time”. We must concede that “TRUTH” has existed before eternity or at some point “TRUTH” had an origin. Logic demands that if something has always existed and that same something has never changed then that always-unchanged something fits the definition of “TRUTH”. We recognize “TRUTH” when we realize it was uncreated by anything that is not eternal and accept that “TRUTH” is either “ETERNAL” or had a singular origin by some “Uncreated Eternal Unexplainable Force”! Once “TRUTH” was declared “TRUTH” at its origin, it cannot be changed because the “finite” cannot dictate the “infinite” nor can the “temporal” change the “ETERNAL”. Simple logic then defines “TRUTH” as:

“TRUTH” is “ETERNAL” and “UNCHANGING”

Even though “TRUTH” cannot be fully explained we can observe the consistent effects of “TRUTH” as it is applied to our daily lives. Once a “TRUTH” has been observed over and over to produce predictable results, and we have developed words to express those observations of “TRUTH” then we can express axioms such as “Water is wet” and “Gravity is why objects fall.” These axioms are not the result of years of evolution and a million small changes happening over billions of years, axioms are the result of the observation of the same thing happening over and over. Axioms can only become axioms by “observation” and are independent on “opinion” or "bias".

Any search for “TRUTH” and any hope of recognizing it must begin with accepting  that “TRUTH” cannot be controlled and “TRUTH” will exist if we search for it or not and finally, “TRUTH” is “TRUTH” if we acknowledge it or not. “TRUTH” then must be accepted as what it is and we must relinquish all control over defining it. This is where my “Journey to TRUTH” began.

We can wander aimlessly and that can be declared a “journey” - a "journey" which finds that many are on the broad path of wandering aimlessly in the darkness of despair and that is why so many people are asking “Why do I exist?” Along with that question is another effect of wandering aimlessly, “What is the meaning of life?” To answer these questions an individual must desire "purpose" and when purpose becomes a personal desire then the “Journey of life has purpose” — without “purpose” there is no “light” and our lives are filled with darkness and void of any meaning, but with “purpose” there is light and a knowing that our steps are leading us to a destination and a hope of a good future. Without “purpose” there is no destination, no hope, and no future and no reason to continue on life’s journey.

The “TRUTH” of life’s journey is that our life boils down to “CHOICES”. There are an infinite number of paths and circumstances each person encounters on their personal journey through life yet “TRUTH” remains the same. Here is where “purpose” helps us on our “journey”. “Purpose” will help us make good choices if we have declared that our “purpose” is to make “Good Choices” and let “TRUTH” declare what is “GOOD”! Do you see the connection of not falling into the trap (the lie) that something is good because people say its ok and a lot of people sincerly believe it is a good thing? In some cases societies have gone so far in their efforts to control peoples lives that the governments of those societies pass legislation declaring equality between “legal” and “good” or the big “LIE” that something is “moral” if it is “legal”! Without holding “TRUTH” as the Moral Standard then we are in the darkness of untruth and will believe all lies and wander aimlessly without hope and wonder why life has no meaning! An example in today's society is that the government is controlling the population by passing legislation that implies that killing an unborn child is legal. The untruth that abortion is the right of a mother to do what she wants with her own body does not in any way change the “TRUTH” that before an abortion an unborn child is alive and after the abortion the child is dead. The “TRUTH” is that since 1973 America has documented over 60,000,000 aborted children are dead and the cause of death is due to “abortion”. Call it “murder”, call it “a right”, call it “good”, declare it “legal”, manipulate the opinion of millions but the “TRUTH” about abortion in America is that the leading cause of death of Americans is not guns, natural disasters, sickness or war — but more Americans have died from abortions than all the other causes of death combined.

Consider that abortions are declared “legal” and defended by a woman’s “right to choose”!

Nothing changes the “TRUTH” that every abortion results in death for the unborn, PERIOD! I know it is the “TRUTH” because human abortions result in an child's "death" -- “death” is the absence of “life” - killing the unborn will result in death and that will never change! Therefore it is the “TRUTH” of abortion that because of abortions, unborn baby humans die. Pass a million laws and every legal abortion will eternally result in the denial of life for the unborn child.

Ask these simple questions:

(1) What “purpose” must be desired in legislating an action that results in the death of an unborn child?
(2) Why would a government of-the-people choose to kill the people it says it is the government of?
(3) Why would a society choose a future of death for our children before they are even born?
(4) How did a society move from the “TRUTH” that sacrificing children is wrong to calling over 60,000,000 dead unborn American citizens as a good and legal thing for America?

(5) Because the government says you have the “legal right to choose to Abort your baby” does  it change the “TRUTH” that your “choice” results in either “life” or “death” for your unborn?

Now do you understand that “TRUTH” is independent of choices but the quality of each life depends on the choices we make on our journey? By declaring that our choices will be “purposefully” directed at promoting “LIFE” and let “TRUTH” declare what is “RIGHT and GOOD” then our journey will be filled with hope and our future will be bright. Children are the future of any society, why would a society chose a hopeless future of death for the unborn? Your “choice” boils down to simply deciding to promote death and division or UNITY that comes from  living with the "TRUTH" that choosing life is the RIGHT CHOICE?

THE JESUS QUESTIONS
JESUS has been introduced by St. Matthew as “Messiah” who was prophesied from the Jewish Holy Scriptures. St. Matthew started with the “genealogy of Jesus Christ” and established that Jesus is “the Son of David” and “the Son of Abraham” (Matthew 1:17) Matthew then moved to the “Virgin Birth” and demonstrated that Mary the mother of Jesus bore Him in a “Virgin Womb” for she had known NO man and the “Seed” she carried was the “Holy Seed of God Himself” which made Jesus both the “Son of Man”, born to a “virgin”, and the “Son of God” , born from the “Holy Seed”!!! (Matthew 1:18-25) Matthew then documents the significance of where and when Jesus was born and establishes that John the Baptist had fulfilled the prophecy of the “forerunner” of Messiah by preaching in the wilderness, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” and was baptizing by water in the Jordan River and those that were being baptized by John were “confessing their sins”. When John saw Jesus coming to be baptized in the Jordan, John, the prophesied forerunner of “Messiah”, acknowledged that Jesus was Messiah and at this point and felt unworthy to baptize “The Lamb of God”  but Jesus said to John, “Permit it to be so now, for it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matthew 3:1-15) Matthew then documents God’s Recognition that Jesus was the Messiah for as “Jesus came up immediately from the [baptismal] water; … behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’” (Matthew 3:16-17) Matthew has now shown that Jesus fulfilled the Messianic prophecy through circumstances that Jesus had no control over such as (1) His parents (lineage), (2) His Birth from a “Virgin Womb”, and (3) the place of His Birth in the City of David — Bethlehem — and (4) His Baptism by God’s “forerunner” of the Messiah, John the Baptist was done to “fulfill all righteousness”. (5) Upon Jesus being “Obedient” to the Father’s Will by being baptized by God’s “forerunner”, God Himself spoke from heaven and called Jesus “My Son” which was heard by a crowd of many witnesses! (Matthew 1:1 thru Matthew 3:17) Starting with Matthew 4:1 Jesus Himself is going to show He is the Messiah by His Lessons, His Lifestyle, and His “Teaching” the TRUTH OF GOD !!! Jesus used circumstances to get His followers to meditate on the TRUTH OF GOD. Jesus demonstrated His Messiahship as He addressed each circumstance and instead of His Messiahship being “compromised” by the circumstance, Jesus demonstrated that His Messiahship was from God as He turned each circumstance into a “Lesson” and “Taught” the “Truth of the Lesson” which “Confirmed” Jesus Messiah, the Christ! Jesus included in His “Lessons” a Method to get our attention and to focus us on the “issue” at hand, and that “Method” was to ASK a QUESTION for us to “think about” and then He would wait for the TRUTH OF GOD to soak in as we thought about His Question.  Sometimes Jesus would immediately tell us the TRUTH OF GOD so that there would be no mistake or misunderstanding of the TRUTH OF GOD that Jesus Taught with every Lesson.  It is this Method of Jesus “asking” us “Questions” to make us focus on the TRUTH OF GOD that is the basis for this blog “The JESUS Questions”.  JANUARY 1 introduced “how and why” The JESUS Questions  came about by the Holy Spirit who issued a Question/Answer challenge  to read the Gospel of Jesus Christ as written by St. Matthew ——— here is that “JESUS Question/Answer Challenge”: “Read through the complete Gospel of Jesus Christ written by St. Matthew (the first book in the New Testament) starting with Matthew 1:1 read through the entire Gospel of Matthew and every time you come to a ‘Question’ that Jesus asks, your challenge is to give Jesus a ‘Truthful answer’.Think about that “challenge” and your “mission” <<< should you choose to accept it >>> is to read the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew and “each time you come to a JESUS Question, give Jesus a TRUTHFUL answer” and I personally will give you a double-your-money back lifetime guarantee that it will change you from the inside out and that you will see that person in the mirror in a different “Light” — remember that TRUTH is FREE so what have you got to lose??? The Holy Spirit left me with these words of wisdom:

“No one but GOD OWNS the TRUTH and GOD gives it FREELY to all who search for TRUTH, so if someone tries to charge you for TRUTH, don’t buy The Lie   -   no matter how pretty the package!!!

Once you accept the challenge to let Jesus show you the TRUTH OF GOD then continue in the Gospel of Jesus Christ written by Matthew starting with Chapter 4:1 and read for yourself and observe how Jesus lived His day-to-day life to witness to the TRUTH OF GOD!!! Just like Matthew used Chapters 1-3 to introduce Jesus as the Messiah by circumstances controlled by God then Matthew uses Chapter 4 through the end of Matthew’s Gospel of Jesus Christ to let Jesus introduce Himself by how Jesus reacted to the “circumstances” that confronted Him in His day-to-day life on this earth. Matthew begins his account of the Ministry of Jesus Christ as follows: “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” (Matthew 4:1) It “is fitting for us” then to know that Jesus started His ministry with a most difficult circumstance and the “Divine Example” that Jesus gives us with His response to being confronted by the devil should be a “Lesson” that we apply to our daily lives to make it through our living in the flesh day-to-day life on earth and having to face difficult circumstances, after all, Jesus has changed the course of History for ALL ETERNITY so He certainly can do the same for our lives — FOREVER FOR ALL!!!

JANUARY  21  THE JESUS QUESTIONS   SUMMATION of Introductions (21): Lessons, Lifestyle, and Parables of Jesus: JQ#1-JQ#33  (Matthew 1:1 thru 3:17)

JANUARY  21  LIVING FOR JESUS  Daily Prayer
JESUS, You ARE the Messiah, praise Your Holy Name, God became flesh to Redeem all from the bondage of sin, You have freed us from the Law of Sacrifice for You have substituted Your Holy Self as the PERFECT ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE for our Atonement, ONCE FOR ALL!!!  Lord, teach me to share the Good News to both Jew and Gentile that the Messiah has come, that the Son of Man has sacrificed His Perfect Life, and that Jesus IS the Passover Lamb who IN OBEDIENCE to the FATHER’S WILL allowed His Spotless Blood to be Shed for our sakes — as Jesus commended His Soul to the Father He proclaimed “It is finished” which was the Divine Announcement that God’s Plan of Salvation has been established by Christ and the “angel of death” will “pass over” all who believe and apply His Precious Blood to the doorposts and lintel of our hearts. God’s Salvation is through His Messiah, God’s Anointed One, for God sent His Son to be Born of a “virgin”, Crucified on a Cross, Buried in a borrowed tomb, and then on the 3rd Day God Raised His Only Begotten Son to Glory — JESUS the Messiah HAS COME!!!      AMEN

JANUARY  21  THE JESUS QUESTIONS

Jesus has now been connected to prophecies that point to Him alone as being the Messiah and yet it is our “faith” that will actually seat Him on the “throne” of our heart — all the evidence in the world will not be sufficient for those that continue to trust in the “doctrines and traditions of man” and not the “commands of God”.  Jesus demonstrated His Intent by addressing the issue of the “whom-we-choose-to-trust” problem throughout His earthly ministry and Jesus made it clear beyond any doubt that this problem displeases God the Father for Jesus immediately addressed the “God’s Commands vs. the doctrines-of-men” issue after making His “Triumphal Entry” into Jerusalem at the beginning of the Passover Week. Jesus was very specific about “doctrines of men” and is quoted as saying: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much as a son of hell as yourselves.” (Matthew 23:15) With statements like that from Jesus attacking the religious leaders of Israel and calling them out with such great condemnation, especially in Jerusalem during the Passover Week, it is understandable that they would certainly not want Jesus to be confirmed as the Messiah for that would be confirmation of them being “sons of hell” — that particular problem still exists today among all who are still refuting the claim that Jesus IS the Messiah. The descendants of those religious leaders that were confronted with their hypocrisy by Jesus still to this day deny that Jesus is the “Anointed One”  and say that the word “Messiah” has been defiled by translation and claim “mashiach” (which means “the anointed one”) has not yet come. Their argument is that “mashiach” is not a god but that “mashiach” is a human that will be a warrior king like David? Those dedicated to the idea that “the doctrines of men” define the True Messiah and do not trust the Revelation of God and the fulfillment of prophecy by Jesus Christ have been blinded to the Truth of God - these then are the “blind leading the blind” and therefore Jesus rightfully called them “hypocrites” for claiming they know the Scriptures better than God Himself!!! This is the exact problem Jesus addressed when He was questioned by the scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem that called Jesus out because of His “Miraculous Works” and He answered their questions with a question of His own: “Why do you transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?” (Matthew 15:3) and coincidentally Jesus called them “hypocrites” and quoted the prophet Isaiah: “Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying, ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me, and in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men’” (Matthew 15:7-9) So everyone that claims Jesus is not the Messiah by quoting the “commandments and doctrines of men” instead of quoting the Holy Scriptures that declare the “Commandments of God” are in essence promoting “man” over the “Word of God”!  Each person must take personal responsibility for the “choice” made through “faith in man” over “trusting God’s Word” — your self-condemnation arises because you have reviewed the same “evidence” in the Holy Scriptures that point to JESUS as the Messiah but you still reject Jesus and therefore you have come to the same point of “decision” put forth by Joshua — “Choose this day whom you will serve!” (Joshua 24:15) Therefore I conclude this “Introduction” and begin The JESUS Questions with this same Truth this article today began with ——— “Jesus has now been connected to prophecies that point to Him ALONE as being the Messiah and yet it is our “faith” that will actually seat Him on the “throne” of our heart — for all the evidence in the world will not be sufficient for those that continue to trust in the “doctrines and traditions of man” and not the “commands of God”. God gave us “Freewill” and the personal responsibility to choose whom we will serve — the main problem is that in spite of GOD’S TRUTH laid plainly before us that we choose to be our own “Master” and serve no one but ourselves!?!?!

LIVING FOR JESUS  Daily Prayer
JESUS, as each new day unfolds Lord we ask for Your Light to shine in our day-to-day world and we thank You that like the consistent sunrise that brings light to our physical world that Your Light will rise each day in our “Spiritual world” and bring with it the blessing of Your renewed Mercies and Grace in our “Spiritual” lives! Thank You Jesus for Your coming to the earth and for taking on flesh and being tempted in all ways such as we but yet You were without sin, and Your Victory over the world is the foundation of our Hope and the Great Expectation of our inheritance in Your kingdom, for surely this world is not our home, but our “dwelling” will be in the kingdom of God where You have prepared an eternal permanent place for those that would call upon Your Holy Name and Repent and turn from our worldly sins — Lord forgive me of all my worldly shortcomings and my daily iniquities and grant to me the self discipline to forgive others as freely as You forgive us!      AMEN

THE JESUS QUESTIONS

JESUS spoke His first words in Matthew’s Gospel and stated that the event unfolding between Him and John the Baptist, the forerunner of God’s Chosen One, the Messiah,  as “Fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3:15) which established Jesus as the “Chosen One” and that John was the “one crying in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight’” (Matthew 3:3) thereby Matthew documents that the “Coming One” had arrived! Only the Jewish community that had been reading the Talmud would understand the significance of Matthew being able to trace the genealogy of Jesus back to Abraham through King David so the Gospel of Jesus according to Matthew points to the fulfilling of God’s prophecies for the nation Israel and establishes through God’s Covenant Promises with Israel’s forefathers that Jesus was the rightful Heir to the throne of David. I believe that the nation was blinded to the Kingship of Jesus because of His Humble beginnings and the fact that Jesus was more like John the Baptist who possessed only the Spirit of God and had no earthly wealth or possessions. Sadly for many, Jesus in His Humbleness, did not fit their vision of the “soon coming King” who they mistakenly believed was to be like Israel’s previous great king, King David, who had possessed the entire kingdom of Israel. King David had ruled with great warrior strength and had accumulated all the material possessions that King Solomon used to build the Great Temple in Jerusalem! The nation Israel and many people today simply cannot see how a cruel death on a Roman cross (at the hands of Israel’s religious rulers who declared that Jesus was a “criminal”) actually prove Jesus to be the Messiah? And how could a “prophet” that did not possess any earthly treasures, by His Birth, Death, Burial, and Resurrection “fulfill all righteousness”!?!?!? Matthew started his documentation of Jesus fulfilling the Holy Scriptures by establishing in Chapter 1 that Jesus was the “rightful heir” to the throne of David! Any one of the events that Matthew records in his 28 Chapters about the life of Jesus could be considered significant but by recording all the events into a single Gospel Matthew established a record of the fulfilling of prophecies by a single man [Jesus] that defies all logic and odds — if the odds of one man fulfilling all prophecies of the Messiah from the Jewish Holy Scriptures could actually be calculated then it would certainly fit into the category of “counting [all] the stars if [we were] able” (Genesis 15:5) or imaging the number of descendants that God had promised a fatherless 90 year old man and his 80 year old barren wife, “I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of  the sky and as the sand which is on the seashore” {{have you ever tried counting all the stars or grains of sand??}} (Genesis 22:17) and these great numbers that are far beyond our counting or imaging the total sum of them point to God the Father for King David wrote: “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand!” (Psalm 139:18). Therefore by collecting all the events of Jesus that point to His being the “Son of God, God’s Anointed One, the Messiah” Matthew establishes beyond a shadow of a doubt that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for any one person to fulfill EVERY Prophecy that Jesus did!!! Matthew established in the first part of Chapter 1 that Jesus is the rightful heir by His Birthright and in the last part of Chapter 1 Matthew records the fulfilling of even more early prophecies of the Messiah as Matthew writes: “the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows…Mary was betrothed to Joseph [and] before they came together, she was found with the child of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 1:18) Matthew explains: “So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet {{Isaiah 7:14}}, saying, ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name ‘Immanuel’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:22-23) Matthew started at “the beginning” which leaves no room for anyone other than Jesus to claim the title of “God’s Only Begotten Son”! The Apostle John (whom Jesus loved) wrote about Jesus: “The WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) The Jewish community had been reading the prophecies of the Coming Messiah for centuries therefore they would be the first ones to recognize that Jesus was the earthly embodiment of “Immanuel” and truly God Himself had sent His Only Begotten Son to dwell among us and by observing the Life of Jesus, we observe GOD HIMSELF!!!  — and the really GOOD NEWS is that now that Jesus has come down from heaven to earth that the Promise of God to Joshua becomes God’s Promise to us for God assures all believers“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6) and (Hebrews 13:5) I will be perfectly honest with you, when I started my “Journey to find TRUTH” I did not expect to find the Messiah; but now that God has revealed His Plans to Provide Salvation as a Gift, why should I turn a “blind eye” to such a “Divine TRUTH”!?!?!?
