Grain of Wheat (Worst Weekend Ever!)

Grain of Wheat (Worst Weekend Ever!)

Verse 1
I remember the soldier saying, Judas is that the One,
That walked on water, made a blind man see, and claims to be God’s Son?
These other men that are praying with Him, do we arrest them too?
So I pulled my sword to protect my Lord,
But He said, “I’m doing this for you.

Chorus 1
“If you live by the sword you will die by the sword,”
And He turned to comfort me.
What did I say about the break of this day,
And remember that grain of wheat.
God has a plan for salvation of man
For all eternity.
I must drink this Cup that my Father fills up,
And Die on Calvary’s Tree!

Verse 2A
The soldiers tied and bound Him, and they slapped Him in the face,
They drug Him to a garden where I watched in sad disgrace.
They took Him to a courtyard, it was a dark and evil place,
And to my great shame I denied His name,
My fears I did embrace!

Verse 2B
The next day they beat and scourged Him, His body was bleeding and torn,
Then they wrapped a robe around Him, and they gave Him a crown of thorns.
They took Him to Golgotha where they gambled for the clothes He’d worn
He was crucified but before He died, He said
“For this Death I was Born!”

Chorus 2
If you live by the sword you will die by the sword,
And He turned to comfort me.
What did I say about the break of this day,
And remember that grain of wheat.
God has a plan for salvation of man
For all eternity.
I must drink this Cup that my Father fills up,
And Die on Calvary’s Tree!

Verse 3
We watched Him hang in terrible pain, and on that cross He bled
We all cried when they pierced His side, just to make sure He was dead!
Light then turned to darkness so to our fears we fled
In a tomb He was laid, and we were all afraid,
We knew Holy Blood had been Shed!

Chorus 3
Then came that knocking at the door, and Mary was standing there.
They’ve come and taken away my Lord, and I really don’t know where?!
His body is not in the tomb! The grave is empty and bare!
The stone’s rolled away and on this Third Day,
There’s a Mystery in the air?!

Verse 4A
Well we froze in grief and total misbelief, John was the first to go!
To the tomb we flew not knowing what to do, what would the sunrise show?
The body was gone so we ran back home then we started to know
That the power to save and defeat the grave was what He came to show!

Verse 4B
But we locked the doors and were hiding, would the soldiers be coming soon?
We wondered as we sat there trembling, drowning in our darkest gloom.
Where had He gone, we felt so all alone when a great Light filled the room
And we were all aware with Jesus standing there, God had raised Him from the tomb!!

Chorus 4A
He said, “Remember My Word and all that you’ve heard,
Believe that the Father sent Me!
That I came to Save, put Death in the Grave,
My Blood won the Victory!
Because I’m Risen your sins are Forgiven
For all Eternity!
Yes I drank the Cup that My Father filled up
And I Died to set you Free!”

Jesus said in John 5:24 “Verily, Verily I say unto you, he who hears My words and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment but will pass from death into life.”

Chorus 4B
“So, remember My Word and all that you’ve heard,
Believe that the Father sent Me!
That I came to Save, put Death in the Grave
My Blood won the Victory!
Because I’m Risen your sins are Forgiven
For all Eternity!
Yes I drank the Cup that My Father filled up
And My Blood will wash you Clean!”

For without the Shedding of Blood there is no Remission of sin. As Jesus Christ said as He hung on the Cross “It is finished!”. Yes, your salvation and my salvation is secure through the Shed Blood of Jesus at Calvary!!

Ending Chorus 4C
(Listen to Him when He says---)
“Remember My Word and all that you’ve heard,
Believe that the Father sent Me!
That I came to Save, put Death in the Grave
My Blood won the Victory!
Because I’m Risen your sins are Forgiven
For all Eternity!
Yes I drank the Cup that My Father filled up
And I Died to set you Free!
Yes I drank the Cup that My Father filled up
And My Blood ----------------- will wash you Clean!”
