“Keep On Keeping On”
Dedication to Phil Hall
Well I packed my bags, and a couple ol’ rags
And I thought I’d hit the road.
No, I didn’t know where, but I didn’t really care
Where I was gonna go.
Should I trust my luck to this rusty ol’ truck
to keep me from going insane?
Well the snow kept falling and the wind kept calling
Silence whispered my name.
Oh the night wind’s cold, it’ll cut your soul
It’ll freeze you to the bone!
All the lessons you learned and the love you spurned
Laughter’s come and gone!
And all the tears you’ve cried hurt you deep inside
Still you’re looking for the dawn
Cause you know the Light will make everything right
Just KEEP ON ------------ KEEPIN’ ON!
Grandpa said “Hold up your head,
don’t you EVER give in!
When things get rough, you just COWBOY UP
And take it on the chin!
Don’t wear a frown when the world gets you down
Put a smile in its place.
Just TRUST the LIGHT to take you through the night
And GET BACK IN THE RACE!”
Oh the night wind’s cold, it’ll cut your soul
It’ll freeze you to the bone!
All the lessons you learned and the love you spurned
Laughter’s come and gone!
And all the tears you’ve cried hurt you deep inside
Still you’re looking for the dawn
Cause you know the Light will make everything right
Just KEEP ON ----------- KEEPIN’ ON!
Just KEEP ON ----------- KEEPIN’ ON!
